Application log on RightFax server shows “Error 231 creating named pipe”
or
“Error 231 in transaction named in channel” occurs when trying to find faxes in FaxUtil or log in to FaxUtil. error

Workaround:
this happens for two points. Both refer to the RightFax database.

Reason 1: The RightFax database won’t let them handle the workload
You can regularly avoid this error by sending a large number of faxes at the same time every day.
If so, you should consider spreading it out throughout the day or deploying an additional RightFax server.

Finding a solution 1c: Work orders

To view the number of work requests that RightFax Web needs to process, log in to Enterprise Fax Manager in advance and then return to Utilities > View Work Requests.

The total number of work requests shown for any arena should not increase continuously throughout the day.

Solution 1b. Viewing RightFax processes
Use the task manager to view the processes on the RightFax server.
Click the Processes tab to make sure almost all processes are using the CPU.
Therefore, when the CPU is busy, Rightfax services and applications can run slower, which can result in a full “231” error.

Solution 1c. View growing topics and client base streams
To view the status of the most recent RightFax database stream:
1. Open Enterprise Fax Manager.
2. Right-click the RighFax database.
3. From the Status drop-down menu, select
4. Select a Hang Around database feed (NOT a catalog feed) from the drop-down list in most status windows.
The last database thread should show ideal commands executed with null. If it should not be zero, increment the counter by 2 using the database threads and resubmit the request.
This number must not exceed 9 in a 24-hour year. If a large assortment appears within an hour of the resume, consider increasing quantity as soon as possible.
The idea is to tune the level so subtly that the last thread is rarely used. You have a few unused themes.
Note. This should permanently stop and restart the rightfax server and database services.

To increase the number of database threads:
1. Right-click the rightfax database module.
2. Select “Configure Service”.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4.Select a price from the list of maximum flows.
5. Click OK.

Please note that in version 9.0, when using MSDE, there is a kind of limit on the maximum number of connections that can be established using MSDE, exceeding this number can cause problems.
