I then went to the advanced options in the File Explorer’s search toolbar, checked the files files, and ran a new search. No results.
I then googled what suggestion I should make to index the directory containing the files I prefer to search. So I went back to the “Tools” level of the search bar > “Advanced Options” and clicked on “Edit Indexed Locations”. I found that all subfolders of “My Documents” were already indexed (and I checked if this subfolder was indexed).
I thought the phrase I was looking for, “import” (without the quotes), might be your reserved word or something, so I tried looking for some other text that I knew appeared in the files multiple times , “datetime “. Still no results.
Do you have any idea what I’m doing wrong and how to get the contents of the file to work?

5. Click Close. It will probably take a few minutes for the system to get the new locations you added to your index.

How do I search for files on my computer?
To find a specific database type, simply use the query “type:” followed by the file extension. For example, you can find: docx files by searching for “type:? docx’.
